In between Rwandan judiciary and ICC who is politicising justice?

With Kagame's government still using Gen Rwarakabije is enough proof that it is more interested in politics than providing justice.

Kagame’s government recently published several letters accusing the international criminal court (ICC) of politicising justice when it released Callixte Mbarushimana, one of FDLR leaders due to insufficient incriminating evidences against him.

What is interesting of all, is that when Kagame’s government was accusing the ICC over Mbarushimana’s case, it never considered how it used Gen Rwarakabije to abuse the international court who is also supposed to be in prison for crimes he committed against Rwandans and Congolese  when he led the FDLR rebels.

Kagame’s government failed to convict someone like Gen Paul Rwarakabije, who commanded the military wing of FDLR which killed a lot of people in DR Congo and Rwanda. He is now President Kagame’s right hand man that he is given assignments in Kagame’s newspaper to tarnish the image of the international court.

This is proof’s enough that Kagame’s government is not interested in providing justice since the people it could have prosecuted like Gen Rwarakabije, who have sufficient incriminating evidence are enjoying impunity due to president Kagame’s selfish political interests . This became evident when president Kagame protected Gen Rwarakabije from being prosecuted by Gacaca courts when different people were also accusing him of having also participated in 1994 genocide .

Another proof that Kagame politicises justice is that he has shown of not having interest in arresting Col. Ninja , another former FDLR commander who commanded the attacks that massacred school children at Nyange. The children victims of the brutal attacks were made heroes for refusing to be segregated on ethnic basis and chose to die.

Instead of taking an initiative to arrest the man who commanded the brutal FDLR killings , he was integrated among the national army where Kagame even awarded him more ranks from a major to a colonel in just a short time.
When Kagame was doing this , he was at the same time pretending that he mourns those children-heroes whenever heroes day is commemorated.

Col Ninja is also Kagame’s right hand man who assists DMI in corroborating with FDLR in different missions in Congo Kinshasa among those are grabbing minerals from DRCongo.

Assisting the DMI and Kagame led to the quick promotion of Ninja’s military ranks and  was given great responsibilities in the national army compared to his colleagues .

Rwandan political analyst say that Kagame’s government politicising justice is no longer a secret since Kagame himself said it during one of his press conferences in 2008 when he was asked the reasons he was not sending Gen Gatsinzi Marcel to the International criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR) in Arusha to testify in the Col Theoneste Bagosora’s case.

In his own words President Kagame said that ICTR was not supposed to compare itself with his judiciary when delivering justice noting that before delivering justice his judiciary considers political interests first.
